The short version
Fold Strategy is an independent project. It is not Cardboard Trade, and it has nothing to do with PaperStrategy.
$FOLD and CARDBOARD are two different tokens. CARDBOARD is what Cardboard Trade rewards its traders with. $FOLD is our token: the one that pays the fee, and the one the vault buys back and burns.
One sentence
Trading $FOLD funds a vault, the vault earns yield by staking CARDBOARD, and that yield shrinks the $FOLD supply.
The loop
- Fee. Every $FOLD trade pays a fee into the vault.
- Deploy. The vault moves into USDC and funds its own accounts on Cardboard Trade.
- Stake. Trading on those accounts earns CARDBOARD, and the vault stakes it.
- Retire. The stake pays USDC. Most of it buys $FOLD on the market and burns it.
Each pass through the loop is one fold. More volume means more fees, a bigger stake, more yield and more $FOLD retired.
The fee
| When | Fee on buys and sells |
|---|---|
| On the bonding curve | 10% |
| After migration | 6% at most |
90% of every fee goes to the vault. 10% goes to the team that builds and runs Fold Strategy.
The vault
The vault is a Solana wallet plus the Cardboard Trade accounts it funds. Its address is revealed at launch and shown on the homepage. Its balances, deployments and history are read live from the chain and from Cardboard Trade’s public data.
Money that hasn’t been deployed yet sits in the vault wallet as USDC. The dashboard splits it into idle (in the wallet), deployed (sent to accounts) and at work (balances and open positions on those accounts).
Staking CARDBOARD
Cardboard Trade rewards trading activity with CARDBOARD, and staked CARDBOARD earns a share of the platform’s USDC distributions. The vault trades to earn CARDBOARD, watches what each token costs it, and stakes what it earns.
Earning CARDBOARD is not free. It takes real trading, and real trading can lose money. The dashboard shows the stake and the yield exactly as they are, never projected.
Retiring $FOLD
When the stake pays out, 90% of the USDC buys $FOLD on the open market and sends it to be burned. The other 10% goes to the team.
Burned $FOLD is gone for good. Each burn will be listed on the homepage with a link to its transaction. Holders aren’t paid USDC directly: the benefit is a smaller supply, not a dividend.
What stays public
- Every vault deposit, deployment, yield claim and burn, each with its transaction.
- The vault’s Cardboard Trade accounts, their balances and their staked CARDBOARD.
- $FOLD’s token settings and who controls them.
The homepage refreshes these figures every 30 seconds. Nothing on it is estimated or simulated.

Risks
- No guaranteed return. There is no fixed yield and no price floor. If volume dries up, so do fees.
- Trading risk. Earning CARDBOARD means trading with real capital, and the vault can lose money doing it.
- Platform risk. The strategy depends on Cardboard Trade: its rewards, its payouts and its uptime. Payouts can be queued.
- Operator risk. The team runs the vault and its accounts. No timelock or LP lock is claimed.
- Liquidity risk. Thin markets mean slippage, for you and for the vault’s buybacks.
- Smart-contract risk. Programs, integrations and price feeds can fail. No audit is claimed.
Cardboard Trade publishes its own risk disclosures. Read them too.
FAQ
Can I buy $FOLD on this site?
Yes, once it launches. The swap on the homepage switches on by itself and routes through Jupiter. Every swap needs your wallet’s approval.
Is $FOLD the same as CARDBOARD?
No. CARDBOARD belongs to Cardboard Trade. $FOLD is Fold Strategy’s token.
Do holders get the USDC yield?
Not directly. The yield buys and burns $FOLD instead.
Is this run by Cardboard Trade?
No. Fold Strategy is independent. We use Cardboard Trade like any other user.
